Our Story
After a particularly rough year, 4 neuro-spicy besties decided to start up Mean Beans™.
For us, it truly grinds our beans when we can't see the menu easily, or it's too large, complicated, or confusing (like being sure you're getting the size you want should not be a guessing game). The worst, for us, is when we have to make small-talk with some random barista who doesn't care about our day but has to ask; forced conversation is the absolute WORST!
So we decided to create a place for people like us; people who maybe have social anxieties, or are neuro-divergent, or maybe just hate having to pretend to be happy at the crack of dawn just to order their morning coffee. So Mean Beans™ was born!
Our Team
Our team of coffee experts can make suggestions for you but our menu will be carefully curated and small so it shouldn't be stressful making a selection when you arrive. The menu will be easy to read and our baristas will not be asking you how it's going or what your plans are for the day. They will be polite, but are just there to serve your selections to you so you can be on your way quickly.
If you prefer super talkative and peppy baristas and a large over-complicated menu, Mean Beans™ is not for you, and that's okay!
